Our Vision
EDV exists to welcome all to Jesus' table—where God's reigning presence renews us, the Holy Spirit transforms us, and Christ's hospitality sends us with mercy and justice.
Core Commitments
Here at East Denver Vineyard, we're committed to:
PRESENCE
Radical Hospitality
You are welcome to the table to encounter God's reigning presence.
TABLE
Rooted Transformation
We grow as followers of Jesus through seeking first the Kingdom of God, individually and in community.
CITY
Mercy-Based Justice
We know God has great compassion for our city, so we serve it wholeheartedly.
EDV Commitments: Presence, Table, City
1. PRESENCE — Experience God's Radical Hospitality
We welcome the renewing presence of God and God's reign through worship, prayer, and surrender.
We are formed at God's table - cultivating a community of worship centered around Jesus Christ's sacrifice, victory, peace, and grace.
Our worship is reverent and Spirit-filled: rooted in the Lord's Supper, shaped by the Scriptures, and sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading.
We submit to and practice God's reign, in harmony with the witness of the historic, global Church, as holy resistance in the midst of an unsettled time.
"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." — Psalm 23:5-6
2. TABLE — Practice Radical Hospitality
We grow at the table together, apprenticing to Jesus Christ through every age and stage of life.
We equip people to root their lives in God's reign and to walk with Him in everyday life.
We live by formative spiritual rhythms of prayer, rest, worship, and work, as described in Scripture.
We empower the young, honor the old, and cultivate environments where questions are welcomed and accompany spiritual growth at every stage of faith.
"As you come to him, the living Stone... you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house." — 1 Peter 2:4–5
3. TABLE — Root in Intergenerational Discipleship and Formation
We grow at the table together, apprenticing to Jesus through every age and stage of life.
We train people not just to know about God but to walk with Him in everyday life.
We create rhythms of spiritual formation rooted in Scripture, Sabbath, prayer, and community.
We empower the young, honor the old, and cultivate environments where questions are welcomed and accompany spiritual growth at every stage of faith.
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." — John 15:5
4. CITY — Bear Witness Through Mercy-Based Justice
We demonstrate Jesus' hospitality and compassion in our city through acts of Kingdom Mercy and Biblical justice.
We believe the Gospel is good news for the poor, the disillusioned, and the forgotten in Denver. We extend the welcome of Jesus' table to the streets—demonstrating God's compassion to the weary, the wounded, and the waiting.
We move toward pain, not away from it.
We join the Spirit's work of renewal—addressing pressing issues of survival and cultivating a mercy-based justice response--what's needed for all people in our city to thrive.
We celebrate the many tribes, tongues, and stories in our city, and we seek to build bridges and express reconciliation where it's needed.
"Seek the peace and prosperity of the city… Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." — Jeremiah 29:7
Our Beliefs
We stand firmly in the center of orthodox Christian teaching and practice. We draw from the rich traditions of the Church throughout history and we adhere to its major creeds: the Apostle's Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Chalcedonian Creed.
Out of loyalty to Jesus Christ and the gospel, we have come to a number of convictions concerning the clear teaching of the Bible.
